Living Well Hero - Steve
Watch a film made by local man Steve who smoked more than 50 cigarettes each day for over 60 years. Steve talks about the health challenges he has faced due to smoking and his continuing journey to be completely smoke free. Steve encourages people to find support to quit as they are more likely to succeed, he has found this with our Living Well Stop Smoking Team.

It’s easier to stay active than you might think and there are plenty of ways to keep exercise interesting and fun! We will be offering ideas to help people easily include physical activities in their day to day life.

We will also celebrate some of our other Living Well Heroes:

Living Well Hero – Julie

Living Well Hero – Mohammed

Thurs 19 Nov – Mental Wellbeing
We’re joining West Yorkshire Prepared in helping make life just a bit brighter by spreading some #WestYorkshirePositiveVibes. Positive thinking is all about trying to focus more on the good things: staying in touch with friends and family, making time for yourself and learning new things.

We will also promote the First Response Crisis Service for those in need of immediate help.

Fri 20 Nov – Alcohol Awareness
This week is also Alcohol Awareness Week. Alcohol Change UK are asking people to look at the link between alcohol and mental health.

Many of us are unaware of the link between alcohol and poor mental health and yet it’s often the first thing we turn to when we’re feeling low, stressed, worried or unable to cope. Drinking too much or too often can also hide or even increase underlying mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.

We will be sharing Alcohol Change UK ‘Mocktails’ recipes throughout the day and also giving links to fact sheets with lots of useful information.

Please do join us on social media and share our posts and tweets: @MyLivingWell1 Our hashtags for Self Care Week are: #SCW2020 #WestYorkshirePositiveVibes and #IAmLivingWell
