Suitable for: Anyone living or working in the Bradford district who would like to know more about health and wellbeing.

Cost: FREE

This training course is ACCREDITED and will take place either online over three separate sessions, or face to face over one day.

After the online course you will need to complete a short assessment which will take place at the end of session 3 (session duration is 30 mins longer to accommodate this) or alternatively a face to face assessment on the date specified.

For the face to face course, the assessment is built into the time specified.

The course will cover:

  • Understanding the meaning of ‘Health’
  • Understanding the basic principles of Public Health
  • Understanding the lifestyle choices affecting personal health and wellbeing
  • Understanding how to manage personal health by working with health service providers
  • Individual and population health
  • Basic Public Health information
  • Personal hygiene
  • How to look after your mental health
  • Protection from infection and preventable diseases
  • Risks of lifestyle choice in substance misuse
  • Work, health and wellbeing
  • Active participation in managing health
  • Working together with health service providers
  • Understanding the lifestyle choices affecting personal health and wellbeing:
  • Benefits of a healthy lifestyle
  • Physical activity
  • Healthy eating
