Communities of Practice
Physical Education Community of Practice:
10th March 2026, 9am- 3.30pm, University of Bradford.

Based on the collective selection of priorities in our JU:MP Schools, and the changes due from the UK government, we are hosting a PE centric Community of Practice. This is a great opportunity to receive the national updates to policy and curriculum, understand its influence within your school, and gain insight into implementing inclusive, high-quality PE for all your pupils.

The key sessions/ workshops within the day will include:

1. Updates via the Association for PE relating to the new PE curriculum, new national PE and Sport partnerships, and the future of the PE & Sport Premium.
2. An overview of how PE pedagogy, curriculum and assessment can be shaped using physical literacy principles.
3. A practical workshop on embedding physical literacy principles within your PE lessons.
4. A workshop exploring the future of assessment in PE and how schools can establish systems that align with physical literacy principles.
5. A reflection session to pull together the key themes and priorities from the day for the schools present.
Open Afternoons

These are opportunities for you to visit schools and see real change in action. The below schools will host up to 16 schools (on a first come – first served basis!) and showcase a specific priority area that they have focused on to enhance their whole-school physical activity provision. Sign up to avoid missing out!

Active Enrichment:
26th March 2026, 1-3pm, Poplars Farm.

This will provide insights into their Active Enrichment offer, and adaptations for one-form and two-form entry schools. Active Enrichment is an exciting shift in thinking, offering all pupils diverse and enriching active opportunities in place of one PE lesson a week.
