Lunch & Learn: Domestic Abuse and the impact on Children, Young People & Families (Education Staff)

Our service Family Action: Bradford Survive and Thrive – Family Action  is part of Survive & Thrive Useful contacts – Bradford DASV and we work with children and young people aged 5-18, using trauma informed approaches to support their recovery from Domestic Abuse.

We will be putting on 2 opportunities for staff across Education in Bradford District to learn more about the impact of Domestic Abuse on Children, Young People and Families. This will be an information session (1 hour, online) and you are welcome to bring your lunch. The session will cover:

  • Discussion of the topic of Domestic Abuse
  • The impact of DA on children, young people and families
  • The impact of DA on children and young people’s engagement and presentations in education settings
  • Sharing what we do at Survive & Thrive and how to refer a child/family for support
  • Practice sharing about trauma informed approaches
  • Time for Q&A

These sessions are open to all staff working across Education settings.

We encourage participants to take care of themselves during and after attendance, given the sensitive nature of the topic.

Session 1: Monday 25th November 2024, 12pm – 1pm

Session 2: Monday 2nd December 2024, 12pm – 1pm

Both sessions will take place on Microsoft Teams and are free to attend. See link below to attend (same link for both sessions):
