Supporting schools to understand, challenge and respond to misogyny in schools
We are pleased to invite you to an in-person event which has been kindly funded by the West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Partnership, enabling schools across West Yorkshire to attend at no cost.

This half-day session brings together colleagues from across primary, secondary and post-16 settings to explore the growing issue of misogyny in education. It will support schools to strengthen their approaches to safeguarding, RSHE and pupil wellbeing, with a focus on promoting healthy relationships, respect and inclusion so that all pupils feel safe, valued and supported.
What to expect:
- A keynote from Talk Consent and councillor address setting the context
- An award-winning, immersive Red Flags performance from Soundproof Box exploring real-life scenarios
- A workshop from Tender using arts and drama to promote healthy relationships
- A Leeds secondary school case study on tackling sexual harassment and sexism
- Closing input from Getaway Girls on Thriving in Education: A Charter for Girls and Young Women and next steps
By the end of the session, you will:
- Better understand how misogyny presents in schools and its impact
- Gain practical, whole-school strategies to address sexual harassment and sexism
- Strengthen links to safeguarding, RSHE and pupil wellbeing
- Feel more confident promoting respect, inclusion and healthy relationships
- Identify clear next steps for your setting
Who should attend:
Headteachers, Senior Leaders, PSHE Leads, Healthy Schools Leads, Designated Safeguarding Leads, Pastoral Leads, SEMH Leads and Personal Development Leads from schools and settings across Leeds and West Yorkshire.
