Step 2 conducted a piece of work in partnership with a number of local schools, and the children’s teams at St Luke's Hospital.
They interviewed a large number of children, parents, school staff and health professionals. As a result, Step2 have developed a Medical Passport and an information video to communicate what young people told them.
The video contains messages that young people wanted their schools to hear, and the passport was a response to them wanting to be able to quickly and easily communicate their needs. This is editable, and should be produced with the young person, printed and laminated. It can then be easily carried in their blazer pocket or planner.
