JogOn – Run without fear of harassment!

Many women feel scared and intimidated and look for alternative running routes, or change the times they go out to avoid catcalling, offensive comments and, occasionally, physical harassment. The JogOn campaign has been created by The Safer Bradford partnership (which includes Bradford Council, West Yorkshire Police and the NHS) to work on stamping down on harassment of female runners and joggers in Bradford district.

Some runners have accepted it as the norm and wouldn’t usually report it to the police, as they didn’t feel it would be taken seriously, but JogOn would like people to report these incidents. They will listen and they will act.

Anyone who has experienced harassment while out running can report it to the council by emailing safer.communities@bradford.gov.uk or calling the police on 101, or online at  www.westyorkshire.police.uk/LiveChat

In an emergency call 999.
