Peter from Bradford quit smoking for good with the Living Well stop smoking service

Peter had been a non-smoker for over 6 years until a car crash made him reach for a cigarette. In his own words Peter said: “I found out too late, you can’t just have one”.

Peter’s partner wasn’t impressed that he had started smoking again although she was understanding as to why.

Peter soon noticed his breath, hair, skin and clothes all started to smell like an old ashtray and he hated it.

Peter asked his GP for help and was referred to the Living Well stop smoking service where he was prescribed Zyban.

At the end of the first week he stopped smoking. Peter said: “Just like that I stopped, it worked like magic. Having a caring partner, support from a professional smoking advisor and a positive mental attitude and determination to quit really helped too”.

Peter says: “I now find I’m breathing better and everyday tasks are easier again too. I no longer suffer from the smell of stale ash which has meant my partner now cuddles me again like she used to before I started smoking!

“My thanks go to my stop smoking advisor Shamina for supporting me and I mean this in the nicest possible way, but I hope we never have to speak to each other ever again lol!”
